Cryptids are the animals that refused to fill out the right paperwork. Bigfoot in the Cascades. Mothman’s red eyes over Point Pleasant. A horse-headed devil in the Pine Barrens. Something humping the water on Loch Ness. You do not have to believe every plaster cast to admit the pattern: people keep seeing upright unknowns at the edges of maps.

High Strangeness gives cryptid reports their own emoji-labeled bucket for a reason. Creature sightings behave differently than orbs or apparitions—distance estimates, track evidence, audio whoops, daylight vs. night. Put it on the living map and suddenly the Pacific Northwest looks like a different planet.
