Case File // 1964-SOC-0424

The Socorro / Zamora Landing

On April 24, 1964, Socorro police officer Lonnie Zamora reported an egg-shaped landed object and two small figures near a remote arroyo. Physical-trace claims, a high-credibility law-enforcement witness, and Project Blue Book attention made Socorro a pillar of mid-century UFO case literature.

Hoax and test-hardware theories remain in circulation; so does the unresolved Blue Book residue. New Mexico’s wider UFO geography—Roswell included—keeps Socorro on every serious map of American high strangeness.
